2013 Course Changes

We said there would be surprises!

We mentioned surprises for this year's race and here is one that even surprised our race committee.

Due to the restoration project going on up at Woodland Reservoir, the portion of Hancock Avenue that runs directly by the reservoir is currently closed to traffic and will remain closed through this year's 10 Mile Mountain Goat Run.

Our race committee is looking at the options to keep the historic Mountain Goat course mostly in place. The best option at this point appears to run past Hancock Avenue on Stolp Avenue and just go up one more street to Rider Avenue, which may be less than 100 yards further up Stolp Avenue. By taking the left on Rider Avenue, we can rejoin Hancock at the little traffic circle just past the reservoir.

This is a one-year change and in 2014 we expect to go back to our previous course. In any event, the 35th Mountain Goat Run will be different than any other Goat and likely is a once in a lifetime change.

We will keep you posted as we finalize the change for this year.

Burston's gushy sentiment is a trlife embarrassing, and hardly professional, especially when, apparently, our military is providing no proof that Osama was actually killed. No photograph, for instance. His body, they say, was "quickly buried at sea." How convenient.
