For several years, The Mountain Goat Race Committee has been working with The City of Syracuse and various neighborhood and historical groups near Onondaga Park to place a monument at Little Round Top in the park that would become the Mountain Goat Hall of Fame.

In November, final approval was given by the Syracuse City Arts Council and the project can begin.

Local artist and sculptor Sharon Bumann has been commissioned to create a Bronze and Granite monument that will be nearly 11 feet high and overlook the city from this beautiful spot that comes just past the four mile mark of the 10-Mile Mountain Goat Run.

A nominating committee has been established that will put forth the names each year of Mountain Goat Run participants, volunteers, organizers or community supporters who should be considered for induction into the Mountain Goat Run Hall of Fame.  The public will get a chance to vote on a group of people each year for induction.

If you would like to help this project, you can donate money when you register. Work has begun on this art piece and we hope it will be completed by the 2016 race.
